About the Position: This position is in the Naval Medical Center Office of Dir of Clinical Support, Radiology, San Diego, California. San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, art studios museums and gardens. A deep harbor is the Home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.

Duties

Manage the budgetary, fiscal, and material management systems of the Radiology Department. Serve as Radiology Department representative in matters related to the electronic health record. Serve as the departmental contract specialist for the Radiology Department. Manage the day-to-day business operation of a department of over 200 employees. Responsible for planning managerial, analytical, and evaluative work for all Radiology Department administrative programs. Coordinate with healthcare business staff to assist product line leader to optimize radiology product line services at NMCSD with respect to local area radiology network services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
