About the Position: This position is in the Naval Medical Center Office of Market Operations, San Diego, California. San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, art studios museums and gardens. A deep harbor is the Home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.

Duties

Assist with development of internal policies, methods, and procedures for carrying out mission functions based upon guidance and directive of local and higher headquarters. Provide data retrieval, analysis, and graphical presentation of data from various health care data systems within the MTF in support of the Data Quality Management program. Plan, develop, revise, and implement healthcare delivery procedures for the effective implementation of TRICARE services. Serve as military treatment facility (MTF) liaison with the TRICARE Regional Office (TRO) on contract issues. Serve as advisor to the Commander and Command staff, higher headquarters, and various committees for the purposes of informing, justifying, and eliciting support for Command business and related initiatives. Plan, assign, direct, and evaluate work of subordinates in all functional areas of the business office to the include Analytics, Coding, Referral Management, and Patient Administration sections.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
