Duties

As an IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSP), GS-2210-09, you will manage all equipment and materials designated as IM "loaner" equipment. Manage the IM self-service work center. Participate in the analysis of requests for new and modified applications. Determines equipment demands and number and kind of requests received, data communications requests, telecommunications requests, visual information requests, and information services requests. Serve as a technical support specialist on DOD, NGB, and state required automated systems and software programs. Update the customer service database for all service requests. Perform other duties as assigned.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 2: NG employees in the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes M-Day Soldiers, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) Military Grades: ENLISTED: E1-E8 Supervisor for this position is 1SG Sandino GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: Application must indicate at least 24 months experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
