You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) in the Fire Department and PMO of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will provide systems administration, configuration, and database management and information systems by managing, operating, and coordinating with enterprise network managers for the installation, integration, and maintenance of software/hardware.
You will establish new user profiles, manage all organizational end-user computer assets; oversee regular and corrective maintenance on installed equipment; and install and maintain computers/laptops and peripherals.
You will implement operational and security procedures for information systems software and hardware; analyze basic customer security requirements; and make recommendations for improvement to information security database of platforms.
You will develop and maintain web-based applications to increase efficiency of current operations and serve as a liaison between users and other support entities to identify business processes, systems and business requirements for deployment.

- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
Qualifications
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

In addition to the above competencies, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Integrating communications and information systems components; 2) Optimize the functionality of networks and systems and diagnose and recover failed systems; and 3) providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of communications and information systems issues and interpret policies, standards, and guidelines.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
