Duties
You will serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the Point Mugu Sea Range (PMSR) Enterprise Systems Branch.
You will ensure that all users have the requisite security clearances, supervisory need-to-know authorizations, and awareness of responsibilities before being granted access to DoD Information Systems (IS).
You will initiate protective or corrective measures when an incident or vulnerability is discovered.
You will ensure that IS and IS-enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate security configuration guidelines and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
You will implement and enforce all DoD IS policies and procedures, and enforce security policies and safeguards on all personnel having access to IS.
You will work with physical security personnel to ensure the physical protection of IS assets, conducts security audits, and ensure audit trails are reviewed periodically and archived for future reference.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position and as a condition of employment incumbents are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements.
- Must earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned.
- Must participate in a continuous learning program. A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
For all grade levels your resume must reflect one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving.
For DS-02: Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-1/4 grade level or DS-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include:
Work history consists of experience performing cyber security support for an acquisition program/laboratory.
Training in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Awareness or training in basic cybersecurity principles.
Have taken classes or training in information technology, cybersecurity or risk assessment related topics.
For DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5/8 grade level or DS-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include:
Knowledge of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) reporting.
Work history consists of experience performing cyber security support for an acquisition program/laboratory.
Training in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Awareness or training in basic cybersecurity principles.
Possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant IT/Tech discipline (MIS, CIS, etc.)
For DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9/10 grade level or DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of qualifying experience include:
Knowledge of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) reporting
Work history consists of extensive experience performing cyber security support for a DoD/DoN acquisition program/laboratory
Extensive knowledge of DoD/DoN Cyber Security processes and policies (DIACAP), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and accreditation documentation requirements
Experience managing cyber security for Enclave Zone B, C, and D laboratory configurations
Training in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
Possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant IT/Tech discipline (MIS, CIS, etc.)
Application of cybersecurity procedures/mitigations to Platform IT systems

Education
The following education is qualifying and may be substituted in lieu of experience:
DS-02: Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
DS-03: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
DS-04: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
