This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Serve as a Supervisory Archives Specialist, assisting in the overall management of all operations. They will assist the Director in the overall management of all operations and programs concerned with receipt, arrangement, storage, preservation, and safeguarding of records, and for providing reference service on such records. This position will be leading the close down of the Fairfield building.
Duties
As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will:
Assist and shares fully in developing annual and long-term plans for FRC operations. Responsible for monitoring work and progress toward meeting goals and objectives set in these plans.
Plan work schedules for projects. Assure the appropriate distribution of work and the meeting of schedules and deadlines. Set priorities and make adjustments as necessary to accomplish tasks.
Conduct staff meetings to convey and discuss suggestions, changes, and new policies or procedures, which have an effect on FRC operations. Provide information generated by these meetings to the Records Center Director.
Advise, counsel, or instruct individuals on administrative policies and procedures.
Oversee the full scope of space administration for the FRC coordinating with Operations Branch's National Transfer and Disposition representatives as appropriate.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Scheduling, transferring, and disposing of records; AND
- Leading teams or projects; AND
- Analyzing work systems.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
