Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as providing advice and/or guidance on policies to internal or external stakeholders; and preparing written papers and/or reports.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as providing advice and/or guidance on policies to internal or external stakeholders; preparing written papers and/or reports; and providing leadership in an organizational program.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of environmental policies and regulations.
Skill in written communication.
Ability to analyze information.
Ability to identify and resolve complex or controversial issues.
Ability to organize the flow of regional activity.
Skill in oral communication.
Skill in planning, organizing and/or coordinating projects/activities.
Skill in project management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
