You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the FINANCE DEPARTMENT of NMC CWD DET NORTH ISLAND.

Duties

You will work as the point of contact (POC) for clerical and technical work in support of budget analysis and administration. You will type narrative and tabular material, such as memorandum, messages, letters, and other correspondence and reports from rough draft or revised typed draft. You will assemble information for various reports, and prepare presentations for briefings, conferences, etc.. You will prepare travel requests and all associated actions and documentation, ensuring that travelers receive correct and timely orders. You will schedule transportation and lodging reservations, when requested. You will maintain subject matter files, instructions, and records relative to the unit/detachment. You will set up and maintain correspondence control logs, showing the status of actions and assuring correspondence action are completed in a timely manner. You will maintain a filing system that is well organized and that needed material is readily accessible. You will receives, sort, and distribute incoming and outbound mail, message traffic and correspondence. You will requisition supplies, office equipment, and publications. You will receive telephone calls, greet visitors, and direct visitors to appropriate staff member.

Requirements

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing clerical and administrative/technical work in support of budget analysis and administration office.
