About the Position: The person in this position will serve as an Electronic Medical Record Specialist that provides expertise in support of training operations of the DoD Electronic Medical Record (EMR), which includes outpatient clinical information systems and inpatient clinical systems, in conjunction with Office Automation (OA) applications.
This position is located at the DiLorenzo Health Clinic at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Manage all administrative and reporting requirements for the EMR Training Program.
Responsible for coordinating training activities involved in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training employees in using Electronic Medical Records.
Perform a variety of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training management tasks.
Plan, execute and/or evaluate the training and training support of the systems.
Provide basic troubleshooting Electronic Medical Record /Office Automation software issues.
Support users individually, in groups or telephonically as needed to resolve training issues.
Manage all administrative and reporting requirements for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Training Program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to work on an intermittent or unscheduled, on-call basis.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis (TB) testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in developing, implementing and/or evaluating training programs; utilizing electronic medical record systems; and troubleshooting basic software applications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Healthcare Administration; Health Information Systems; Health Sciences or Health Services Organization and Research.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages
