About the Position: This position is located in Kenner Army Health Clinic, Active Duty Clinic (ADC). The incumbent operates in an office with an eight man hearing booth. Hours of operation is 0700-1600 and the applicant will be able to provide education to soldiers of prevention of hearing loss and how to protect their hearing.

Duties
Performs record keeping operations associated with the testing process.
Reviews audiograms and makes judgments about need for follow-on testing.
Receives patients reporting to the clinic for care.
Provides guidance and information on clinic policies and procedures to the patient.
Performs mandated calibration checks on equipment and records results.
Sets up required medical equipment daily.
Coordinates and administers microcomputer driven audiometric examinations performed to determine hearing loss.
Perform health education briefings on "prevention of noise-induced hearing loss"
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position and is subject to a pre-employment screening and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position requires the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and Certifications from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes working in a medical treatment facility performing work that provided knowledge of clinical procedures with duties such as receiving patients; using a computer to access patient information; providing patients with information on clinical programs; performing hearing screenings.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
