You will serve as a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will determine manpower needs or material requirements based on projected maintenance work. You will recommend changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences to accomplish maintenance work. You will complete scheduled maintenance work within established timeframes and guidelines. You will assign maintenance work to employees and instruct on work requirements, methods, and procedures.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE. 1) Plans work schedules and the sequence of operations for the work force supervised. 2) Sets the In-shop priorities and determines the number and type of personnel required to accomplish job assignments. 3) Assigns work to subordinates either orally, by providing written instructions, or electronically through the Computerized Facilities Management System. 4) Trains subordinates in safety regulations and other regulations and policies established by the Federal Government. 5) Inspects work in progress to ensure productivity, efficiency, economy, and safety of operations. 6) Gives detailed supervision and resolves working problems as required. 7) Furnishes information regarding such matters as on-the-job injuries, accidents, and CPR and respirator certification records. 8) Enforces safety, fire, and other regulations, and sees that good housekeeping is maintained in work areas supervised. 9) Obtains, issues, and advises on the use of safety equipment. 10) Keeps supervisor informed concerning job progress, technical and personal problems encountered or unsafe conditions not within his/her own ability to correct.
