The Facilities Management Service(FMS) of Northern Arizona Prescott VA Healthcare System is recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanic at its Prescott, AZ location. The primary purpose is the maintenance and repairs of ground equipment,generator maintenance and repairs, heavy equipment maintenance and repairs, building maintenance and repairs, and installations throughout the facility.

Medical Gas maintenance certification ASSE 6040 is preferred. Experience in various forms of welding and welding techniques are preferred. Experience in performing various levels of equipment maintenance within the commercial healthcare industry is preferred, and experience in commercial and/or industrial equipment maintenance industry is acceptable. Advanced and Intermediate automotive maintenance experience is acceptable. Residential and/or handyman maintenance experience is not acceptable and will not be considered. Basic automotive experience is not acceptable. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
