This position is located in The Office of Communications (OCOM) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and is responsible for creating and publishing content across the FDIC’s social media channels in support of digital branding initiatives and assists with the implementation of the agency’s social media strategy. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for the CG-09, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG 07 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience creating content for social media platforms; and gathering, analyzing, and reporting on social media data. OR EDUCATION: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LLB or JD, in a related field. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-09 level. To qualify for the CG-11, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG 09 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience (1) creating, managing, and publishing content for/on social media platforms; (2) Planning and creating multimedia content using graphic design, photo manipulation and video editing software and techniques; (3) gathering, analyzing, and reporting on social media data.  OR EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level. Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
