You will serve as a NUCLEAR OPERATIONS MANAGER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will be responsible for the direction, integration and coordination of nuclear work operations. You will ensure that all nuclear production work is accomplished on time, at a reasonable cost, in accordance with specified technical requirements and good workmanship standards. You will establish funding requirements for project completion and negotiation of funds to cover project enlargements. You will negotiate alternative courses of action and resolve conflict with key level personnel involving nuclear work. You will plan overall work assignments on an intermediate and long range basis. You will coordinate both work activities and personnel of units supervised. You will ensure work plans are followed and production and quality standards are met. You will study continuing problems, and implement or recommend corrective action.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing production efforts for the overhaul, repair, or testing of shipboard work; managing material, labor costs, and overtime for shipyard projects; and coordinating the efforts of various trades in completing a shipyard project, in order to maximize the efficient use of resources.
