About the Position: The incumbent receives direction and guidance in day-to-day operations from the USA MEDDAC Medical Company Commander and Medical Company First Sergeant, Fort Knox, KY, in support of its subordinate units and outlying clinics
Duties
Work in strict adherence to the performance guidelines for the orderly room, published by the Medical Company Commander.
Greet visitors and receive telephone calls, obtain information as to nature of business and refer visitors or callers to appropriate staff member.
Perform a variety of duties in the performance of clerical and administrative processes and procedures in support of the company orderly room.
Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Company Commander and First Sergeant based on accurate data from databases.
Advise the Company Commander and First Sergeant on training deficiencies for assigned Soldiers and assists in the coordination of training.
Operate a variety of electronic office equipment in the performance of general office support work involving maintenance of various databases for purpose of tracking training and readiness.
Conduct in-processing and out-processing requirements for all assigned Soldiers.
Impose supply discipline, monitor unit supply procedures, ensure physical security of assigned property and keep the Company Commander advised of status of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- A Personnel Security Investigation may be required
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

Specialized Experience:
AT THE GS-05 LEVEL: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school education and experience may be used to meet the total experience requirements.A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
