The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 388 Range Squadron, Range Support Operations Flight (RSO).
Duties
Plan, organize, oversee, and oversee the daily activities of RSO flight within the 388th Range Squadron.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represent the 388th Range Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning and scheduling work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and long range planning; assign work in consideration of employee skills and mission requirements; develop performance standards and rate subordinates' performance; advise employees on work and administrative matters; implement methods and procedures to improve organizational performance; and identifies and provides for employee training and development. Manage and conduct realistic operational training and test support programs including tactical development and evaluation of large footprint weapon systems; provide target management. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of combat air force tactics, techniques, procedures and training requirements required to produce a realistic training environment, and establish, interpret, revise or review MRTFB policies and mission objectives.
2. Ability to research knowledge of aircraft subsystems sufficient for required flight test safety information and knowledge of the requirements, methods, techniques, and procedures pertinent to flight safety.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the employees of a multi-disciplined functional flight.
5. Working knowledge of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations and current legislative issues.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
