The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.

Duties

1. Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. 2. Performs nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. 3. Inventories Life Support equipment (-21) upon arrival and departure of PDM aircraft. 4. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment and works with Hazardous Materials.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5700 Transportation/Mobile Equipment Operation Family.. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Lead Or Supervise. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Operation of Motor Vehicles Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability To Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle) Reliability and Dependability as a Tractor Operator Working Conditions: ???????Works primarily outside and operates vehicles in natural extremes of hot and cold weather conditions and high noise levels (85) decibels). May be exposed to JP-5/JP-8 jet fuel, chemical dust and sprays, dust, dirt, grease, and/or fumes and to the possibility cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents when loading and unloading (-21) equipment. Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment to avoid injury and possible hazards in the work area. Works on steep slopes and in rough terrain and may be subject to injury from falls or overturned tractors and equipment. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
