About the Position: Serves as a Construction Control Representative, incumbent is responsible for implementing the government's Quality Assurance Program and monitoring the contractor's quality control and inspection program for assigned construction projects. Prepares Quality Assurance Reports for assigned projects.

Duties

Provide on-site surveillance of construction contracts. Provide technical support to project and office engineers. Perform safety and labor surveillance. Resolve customer’s issues concerning technical, planning, coordinating, or advising on work efforts all of which are critical to mission execution.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation (NACI-TIER 1).
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination validating ability to carry up to 39 pounds and annual examination thereafter.
  • Must obtain and maintain a stateside valid Driver's License.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 39 pounds is required.
  • Up to 15% Business Travel may be required.

Basic Requirement for a Construction Control Representative, GS-0809-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as an Construction Control Representative, implementing Quality Assurance Program and monitoring contractor's Quality Control and Inspection, studying or interpreting plans while initiating actions for correctness, preparing daily Quality Assurance Reports and compiling data for pay estimates, conducting interviews with contract employees to ensure compliance with labor standards AND reviewing or evaluating contractor safety requirements to ensure compliance with District Safety Program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ComplianceCustomer ServiceQuality AssuranceTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
