This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Library Buildings and Grounds, Facilities Operations Division, Maintenance Branch. The Maintenance Mechanic performs a mixture of electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning work of buildings and facilities. The work includes, but not limited to corrective and/or preventative maintenance, repair and installation of commercial/industrial air condition and heating systems, plumbing systems and electrical systems.

Ability to perform Maintenance Mechanic duties and responsibilities without more than normal supervision to include: Applying a variety of trade practices (e.g., electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC repair) to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification, and repair of facility equipment.  Working from mechanical, electrical and structural drawings and blueprints.  Troubleshooting, testing, and installing electrical circuits, controls, and components.
