The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the weapon systems software management specialist (SMS) for the assigned functions of Automated Computer Program Identification Number (ACPIN) system to administer these system processes, perform software configuration status account and management, to review deficiencies, and to ensure corrective action is initiated.
Duties
1. Provide and assist in managing/coordinating for the weapon system software for which 76 SMXG has responsibility.
2. Preserve the integrity of the software by managing the software in its delivered state.
3. Duplication and distribution of software.
4. Participates in discussions, meetings, or serves on panels or committees.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is defined as managing, organizing, coordinating, and maintaining the integrity of weapon systems software, identification and distribution systems; utilizing computer programs and Automated Computer Program Identification Number (ACPIN) systems; developing long and short range operation requirements projections; knowledge of information assurance policies, principles to communicate to customers relating to ACPIN systems and software duplication and distribution.

OR
EDUCATION: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have less than the full amount of specialized experience required but have more than 2 years of graduate level education with a major or subject area related to the position to be filled.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of computer program products and ACPIN systems.
2. Broad knowledge of documentation identification, indexing, filing, and control.
3. Ability to manage, plan, and organize identification and distribution systems and make long- and short-range operation requirements projections.
4. Knowledge of configuration management practices, their practical application, status accounting procedures and formulation of the necessary management disciplines.
5. Knowledge of and working experience with the regulation and necessary planning documents used in acquisition, development, and support of mission critical computer resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
