This position is located within the Care Management and Social Work Service at the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS). The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant with the Care Management and Social Work Service and supporting programs in Aurora, CO. This position provides administrative support to the Care Management and Social Work Service and all supporting programs.

Duties

Data Collection & Tracking Support Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the Care Management and Social Work Service and supporting programs. Using established National protocols, create excel spread sheets to track quarterly production reports. Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Evaluates documents and other data collection forms. Coordinates incoming data from a variety of sources including but not limited to Military Treatment Facilities, VA/DoD Liaisons, VHA facility Points of Contact and the VA Central Office. Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track suspense's on items such as completed transfers, patients transfer status, Liaison activity, project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies, etc. Research/Program Resources Services and Support Performs work related to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials/personnel to support the policy development and/or technical activities of Care Management and Social Work Service and supporting programs. Assembles and summarizes data, background information, and other materials from publications and other sources including but not limited to Military Treatment Facilities, VA/DoD Liaisons, VHA facility Points of Contact and the VA Central Office. The incumbent updates/revises local intake tool to better reflect National documentation changes. Identifies needs of program; information needs and areas for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned. COMPUTER, TECHNOLOGY AND DATA SUPPORT The incumbent will possess advances computer skills (e.g., word processing, CPRS, VISTA, Excel, Weekly Statistical Reports, Gains & Losses, MS Power Point) and communication tools such as Outlook. He/ she will be responsible for input of required data into databases, logs and rosters for management that fall under Home Telehealth for Care Management and Social Work Service within a timely fashion. He/she will be required to operate web- based software programs within the Home Telehealth section such as the Home Telehealth Management Platform (TMP), update and maintenance are required from all stations in VISN19. The incumbent will be responsible for utilizing statistical data to compile a monthly workload for all program staff. The incumbent uses this statistical data to identify workload for numerous locations in ECHCS. It takes several hours per week to derive this information. While performing these functions, the incumbent must consider the inter-relationships, of the reports and the multiple users of the data generated. He/she will be responsible for effective utilization of resources and frequent fiscal coordinator, as well as compiling and submitting various budget reports to the Administrative Officer as requested. Reports consist of standardized budget reports (Excel spreadsheets) which are required monthly to track SCAN ECHO expenditures. GOVERNMENT PURCHSE CARDHOLDER/ FISCAL MANAGEMENT Incumbent is an authorized user of the Government Purchase Card. As an authorized user of this card the incumbent is responsible for meeting the standards for documentation and reconciliation of the purchase cards as set forth by VA Handbook 1730.1. Use and Management of Government Purchase Card, dated August 27, 2008. Work Schedule: 0800-1630 Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/29/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Inputting data accurately and timely into national database tracking system and internal systems via Microsoft programs; Maintaining the SWS answering calls, providing accurate information and knowledge, providing quality customer service, directing calls to appropriate services, and providing direction to internal resources based on a wealth of institutional knowledge; Administrative Duties: mailings, CNH billing, supporting the equipment and resource needs of programs staff, time keeping duties for program staff, full range of administrative duties; Manage Funding: reporting, tracking, financial spreadsheets; Ability to Plan Effectively: set priorities, coordinate activities, have a high degree of skill in oral and written communications with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding, and present a positive image of the VA; Demonstrates Proficient Use of Software: Microsoft programs, VISTA, electronic health record, Sharepoint, etc. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ClericalCustomer ServiceFinancial ManagementTechnical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. The employee sits comfortable to do the work assignments. At times there may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items, e.g., papers, books, files, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
