Duties
DUTY 1:
Performs Career Broadening assignments; collaborates with Senior Security Specialist and Acquisition Program Managers across AFLCMC to ensure protection of DOD's most sensitive Special Access Programs. Maintains security oversight of Special Access Programs. Develops operating standards for SAP facilities and provides technical expertise to senior level personnel on interpretation, clarification, and implementation of SAP directives. Manages accesses for SAP efforts and provides guidance associated with handling, control, access, and safeguarding of such information.
DUTY 2:
Administers the Information Security program. Serves as a security professional for the development, testing, fielding, and protection of advanced and special access program technologies. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies security guidelines from various sources for local application.
DUTY 3:
Administers the Industrial Security Program. Implements and administers the Industrial Security Program through the use of DoD, USAF and MAJCOM directives and procedures. Manages contractor-related security actions for the protection of special access program information and other sensitive information originated or controlled by the DoD and other agencies. Reviews solicitation and contract documents to ensure they include the appropriate
security clauses and verbiage.
DUTY 4:
Administers the Personnel Security Program. Establishes local procedures for processing requests for classified information access for military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Initiates and reviews requests for personnel security investigations consistent with directives. Responsible for the classification management program and supports special access program manager in developing classification guidance and making personnel security decisions.

- PCS cost will be paid IAW Career Broadening Policy under this agreement.

- These assignments offer the qualified candidate a unique assignment in that the candidates brings certain experience to the assignment while gaining new experiences in a different work environment
- TEMPORARY PROMOTION: If the position is filled as a temporary promotion, upon completion of the career broadening assignment, the temporary promotion may lead to permanent promotion without further competition
- Position may be subject to random drug testing
- Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyances IAW Joint Travel Regulations may be required in performance of TDY
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements encompassed within the overall IP realm to include: Information Security, Personnel Security, Industrial Security, International Security, Threat Analysis, Insider Threat Program Acquisition Security, Program Protection, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security, Foreign Disclosure, and Information Assurance/Cybersecurity.
Knowledge and expertise of all facets of DoD Security Programs' practices, procedures, and regulations are applicable to the performance of a full range of security administration responsibilities. Knowledge of and high degree of skill in analyzing and comparing cost benefits, cost projections, budgetary tradeoffs, fiscal strategies, and programmatic factors to produce fully justified security countermeasure options that can be presented to higher levels of management for use in defending fiscal decisions. Knowledge and ability to plan, organize, develop studies or projects and to negotiate with senior management to accept and implement recommendations, where the proposals may involve substantial resources, require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures, or may be in conflict with previous programming actions. Knowledge and ability to consider alternatives in managing unique programs, including resource management, relationships to other federal protective programs, and overlapping requirements between AF and other organizations.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-12 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of information protection, enterprise risk management and program protection safeguarding concepts, principles, and practices.
2. Thorough knowledge of a wide range of requirements for Personnel Security and Industrial Security programs.
3. Thorough knowledge of insider threat mitigation requirements, standard and procedures.
4. Skill in writing and briefing to synthesize complex issues and present information to senior leaders.
5. Skill and technical ability to plan, organize complex work, and meet critical deadlines.
6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships contributing to a cooperative and academic environment and successful accomplishment of the AFMC mission.
