Duties
Responsible for monitoring, evaluating performance, and providing policy guidance and technical advice regarding distribution functions and special missions such as kitting and assembly processes.
Provides advice and guidance to Distribution Centers related to planning and directing storage and distribution management. Interprets policy and provides a standard interpretation/guidance.
Conducts analyses and participates in process improvement studies, collects data and develops recommendations to improve performance relative to established goals, funding and resourcing.
Assists in the establishment of operational guidelines and makes recommendations for changes based on physical layouts, mechanized material handling systems, and automated data processing systems, to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Responds to problems or questions, performing intense research into applicable rules, regulations and precedents, analyzing aspects of the current operation to determine root causes and solutions.
Prepares and presents staff level reports and briefs to management, including Command level.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume must support:
A. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties
section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:
Analyzes program data/interrelationships and coordinates the preparation of accurate and reasonable program plans and proposals.
Development of detailed plans, goals and objectives for long range plans and/or developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the command distribution programs.
Investigates or analyzes a variety of distribution problems, conditions or questions, formulating projects or studies, or establishing criteria for the assigned area of specialization.
B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience at the
GS-12 level.
