You will serve as an Administrative Support Technician (OA) in the Navy Operational Support Center, Command Services Department (N01) of NRC CHARLESTON.
Duties
You will assist staff with questions and issues related to administrative functions.
You will maintain files (e.g., entering, retrieving, reviewing, updating data), ensuring accuracy and propriety of data.
You will generate reports to obtain or provide information related to organizational, administrative, or procedural matters.
You will use Microsoft Word or similar word processing software to type correspondence (e.g., instructions on office procedures, requests for information, letters of acknowledgement).
You will inform or instruct clerical personnel concerning procedures for preparation of naval correspondence.
You will resolve administrative issues (e.g., procurement of supplies, schedule conflicts, leave requests, overtime or compensatory time requests, procurement, timekeeping) to avoid disruption to office operations.

- Drill Weekend work is required.
- Must be able to self-certify that incumbent can type 40 words per minute.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience preparing Correspondence (e.g. gathering information, assembling supporting documentation, typing, correcting grammar, spelling, proof reading). Experience reviewing directives and/or developing local directives to implement policies and institute internal operating policies. Experience utilizing Messaging System (e.g. maintaining, distributing incoming/outgoing messages, entering, extracting messages, processing classified/ unclassified communications). Experience with mail distribution, and/or service (e.g. receiving, sorting, delivering of official mail to proper code, maintaining logs, of certified and registered mail, collect outgoing mail for bulk mailing). Experience preparing, entering, maintaining personnel security records and/or files, into various computer system programs (e.g. Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ), Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (E-QIP), Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), or comparable systems. Experience maintaining a filing systems, storage maintenance, retrieval of correspondence and documentation from files and record disposal in accordance with Records Disposition Manuals.
