You will serve as a HIGH VOLTAGE ELCTRICIAN in the Public Works Department, Facilities Maintenanc Division of MARINE CORPS AIR STN CAMP PEN.
Duties
You will assist in the intallation, testing, repair and preventative maintenance of high voltage electrical, power-controlling equipment and underground power distribution lines.
You will participate in the testing, repair and maintenance oof electric generating equipment in auxillary and electrical co-generation facilities.
You will peform daily inspection of all airfield lighting systems including runway, taxiway, approach, strobe lighting, transformers, circuit breakers, and related components of electrical power distribution systems.
You will use run overhead wire and conduit, making connections with insulators, cross-arms, and entrace weather heds, splicing wiring, cable etc as requied.
You will install related hardware and power supplies for traffic controls and other special purpose electrical uses.
You will respond to power outages or interrupations, execute energize and de-energize procedures and troubleshoot systems and circuits.
You will perfom load tests on transformers, correct circuit malfunctions, etc., using a variety of test instruments and apparatus.
You will operate motor vehicles to include related power equipment such as power lifts, winches, aerial booms, power take-offs, ditching equipment and post hole diggers.
You will perform maintenance schedules, inspections and a complex series of tests for these systems to ensure their total reliability.

- You will be required to lift, carry, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds, items weiging more than 50 pounds are moved with the assistance of other worker or the use of mechanical lifting devices.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You are required to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This is a Bargaining Unit position.

Tasks performed for this position include: Installing, testing, repairing, maintaining high voltage electrical power controlling equipment and both overhead and underground, testing, repair and maintenance of electric generating equipment, inspecting airfield lighting systems.
