Duties

You will analyze and trouble shoot electrical issues on 12 KV breakers and circuitry within the system to determine which parts need repair You will distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specification. You will repair modify, and install power distribution system, including wires, cables, poles, conduits, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitors, regulators, etc. You will perform a variety of work to assure the proper operations of sub stations and their electrical controls and apparatus. You will respond to power outages or interruptions 24 hours a day, often in inclement weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A or Class B CDL.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION.Work of the position includes passing on to other workers instructions received from the supervisor and getting work started. The work requires extensive comprehensive knowledge of high voltage principles in order to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate highly complex electronic equipment.
