Duties
You will repair, modify, and install power monitor and distribution systems (including wires, cables, poles, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitors, regulators, and more).
You will measure, cut, bend, and install underground cables and conduits, connecting lines and testing operation.
You will operate motor vehicles and power equipment such as power lifts, winched, aerial booms, power take-offs, ditching equipment, pole augers, chainsaws, and other hand and power tools.
You will operate technical test equipment such as relay test sets; volt, amp and power factor meters; high voltage output testers; and faultfinding equipment.
You will frequently work on energized systems to troubleshoot problems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a Mission Essential position and you will be required to remain or report to work in emergency situations.

- You will be required to POSSESS and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position frequently requires work in aerial bucket trucks at heights of 100 feet and in trenches or in man holes below ground.
- This position may involve climbing water tanks or towers in excess of 200 feet.
- Work requires bending, stooping, climbing, reaching above the shoulders, strenuous pulling and pushing, and standing for long periods.
- you must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 90 pounds in weight.
- Coordination of eyes, hands, legs, and body is needed in installing, repairing, and testing electrical equipment in confined spaces such as
manholes and overhead structures.
- The employee may perform work from ladders and such work requires the use of arms and legs in climbing.
- Work could result in mandatory 24 hour emergency call, and in close proximity to high voltage lines and equipment.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform common tasks including dismantling, maintaining, and repairing units such as circuit breakers, fused disconnect switches, substation transformers, tap changers, and regulators.
