Duties

You will articulate and communicate to other analysts on the team the assignment, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues-under review, and deadlines/time frames for completion. You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the Travel Directors instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met. You will research, learn, and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products. You will analyze current and proposed financial operating procedures/programs and business policies/practices to evaluate their actual or potential effectiveness in achieving objectives of the Travel Division. You will conduct management audits, special projects etc., and provides advisory services to the Travel Director or management officials. You will review system changes and impact on staff, and claimant operations and systems.

• This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing and troubleshooting travel system issues and providing guidance to Travelers and others who require an understanding of fiscal laws, regulations, Joint Travel Regulations, policies, and procedures applicable funding requirements AND monitoring the travel system for departure status, pending vouchers and all required reports.
