Duties
You will serve as a Travel Officer in the Comptroller Department at Commander, Naval Special Warfare Center (COMNAVSPECWARCEN).
You will supervise the performance of subordinate staff and the accomplishment of a wide range of financial, administrative, and analytical duties and tasks in support of the Command Travel and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Programs.
You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Travel policy and processing functions including Defense Travel System (DTS) conference attendance requirements.
You will be responsible for developing financial/travel policy for COMNAVSPECWARCEN and subordinate commands.
You will also serve as the Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Travel Program Manager responsible for conducting detailed travel-related risk assessments. You will provide oversight and coordination of inspections to support audit readiness.
You will perform budgetary and financial management functions to support fiscal compliance. You will develop spend plans and monitor funds execution targets.
You will perform oversight of travel processing to ensure proper and timely financial postings in the official accounting system.
You will independently resolve critical problems, plan, develop and manage travel programs and requirements that are continuously evolving and changing in priority and scope.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
- This is a Financial Management Level 3 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Manage a range of financial functions e.g. budget formulation, execution, detailed cost analysis; Manage the Command Travel and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) programs and Defense Travel System (DTS) travel processes in accordance with applicable travel policies and directives.
