The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) coordinates the development of detailed operational spending plans including major contracts and equipment purchases for each business unit within the Agency. The Office produces the annual Budget Submission to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the President's Budget Request by coordinating, compiling and analyzing Agency resource requests in line with strategic priorities and performance goals.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.
GS-14 For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13. Specialized experience for this position Includes
Experience assisting with the formulation of budget estimates for multi-year programs in an agency or company with an operating budget of at least one billion dollars;
Experience drafting or analyzing budget justification documentation, e.g. staffing models or funding requests;
Experience compiling multi-year financial projections for including comparison of cost and revenue and detailed financial estimates and synthesizing data into graphs, charts, and reports; and
Experience using budget allocation methodologies, (e.g. split allocations, activity based costing and/ or revenue information).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
