This position is located within the Psychology Service at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC. The incumbent provides administrative support to Psychology Service and the Psychology Training Programs under the supervision of the Mental and Behavioral Health Service (MBHS) Administrative Officer.
Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs record keeping, scheduling, ordering, and data collection.
Processes time keeping records in accordance with rules and regulations.
Maintains inventory of appropriate office supplies and supply ordering and pick-ups.
Completes assigned projects, studies, narrative and statistical reports.
Supports psychology training program by assisting the chief of psychology with incoming applications, setting up interviews, and collection of all required documents for onboarding.
Manages all policies, procedures, and operation manuals to meet Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and other Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
Uses knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment and a variety of software and databases.
Communicates effectively both orally with facility leadership, staff members and veterans.
Submits work orders to resolve deficiencies.
Enters procurement requests and submits them to the servicer to reconcile issues.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-06 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service, that has provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant, GS-6. Specialized experience includes collection, compilation, and tracking of data and statistical information, updating office files and records, and using various office automation software, such as electronic mail, desktop publishing, word processing, and spreadsheets. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary, but a great deal of walking to all parts of the Medical Center is required since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and administrative services.
