Duties
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:
Serve as an analyst in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex, interrelated public health data policy using input from governmental and non-governmental organizations from multiple sectors.
Analyze existing or proposed systems, strategies, services, or other health-related matters for long-range implementation and administration of the public health programs used for the congressional justification and Center/Division Level inquiries including Freedom from Information Act.
Develop and formulate long-lasting, mission-critical partnerships and collaborations with team members and colleagues, including public and private sector representatives and their staff and government officials.
Provide technical advice and assistance in managing and evaluating grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and other awards.
Assist in preparing the annual budget and/or requests for funding based on information related to data policy and data exchange that impacts the governmental and non-governmental recipients.
Prepare directives, issuances, memoranda, policy statements, and legal agreements to analyze initiatives impacting non-organizations and recommend effective operations consistent with overall program objectives, including short- and long-range public health program goals, objectives, and policies.
Coordinate high-level, collaborative projects with other internal and/or external organizations to meet agency goals related to policy to improve population health.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: performing analysis of public health policies and initiatives, and applies agency, department, and/or government wide evaluation efforts to program activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
