Duties
Monitors and provides technical advice related to: supply storage, distribution performance, stock management, material control, transportation, customer service, budget administration, manpower, and organizational structure.
Assists with monitoring obligations, expenditures, and fund usage for assigned programs.
Performs a variety of budget administration duties for assigned area.
Analyzes the distribution and utilization of resourcing concepts to ensure activities serviced have the ability to meet workload and production rates.
Identifies process improvements that will provide efficiencies and improve mission effectiveness.
Responds to customer inquiries and prepares documentation in support of customer requirements.
Coordinates special mission requirements to support mobilization, special movement of troops and equipment.
Reviews and interprets regulations, policies, and instructions.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing and recommending improvements for a broad range of operating, financial, and distribution management programs; Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives to improve manpower and organizational structure management; Monitoring performance trends and reviewing procedures for possible corrective action(s) to determine most effective and efficient use of resources.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
