Duties
As a Public Health Analyst you will:
This position is located in the Program Planning and Development Unit within the Division of State and Local Readiness in the Office of Readiness and Response.
Serve as a special projects officer and conduct comprehensive research, review and analyses on a wide variety of public health-related management programs to provide a wide variety of complex staff papers that address complex multi-functional issues.
Research and evaluate key public health policies that are central to the bureaus or agency's mission.
Serve as a leading authority and integrate knowledge and experience of public health programs and policies to provide guidance on cross cutting procedural and multilayered and multifaceted policy issues to other components of the agency and other governmental agencies.
Prepare policy documents, briefings, reports, summaries, responses to requests for information, and other substantive documents.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: analyzing, planning, and designing program policies related to public health management and preparedness programs, and advising on technical matters before representatives of state and/or local governments or various agencies and organizations on matters relating to the improvement of public health activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
