Duties
Serves as Document Automation Specialist responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Directorate operational programs and functions.
Formulates and carries out direction on broad aspects of the DLA J67E Equipment Management Solutions (EMS) Division that is coordinated between DLA and officials at Agency- level offices.
Conducts studies of successful business operations programs and investment analysis programs, developed by other Federal agencies and private industry.
Provides direction and guidance DLA -wide regarding EMS program on multi-functional and single function office devices, corporate contracts, partnership agreements, and corporate business case and investment analysis.
Keeps abreast of new technology in order to develop cost effective and efficient business operation proposal and business case and investment analyses.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Document Automation Specialist (EMS), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Researching and prepares operational program directives for the EMS Division and monitors implementation and usefulness by EMS Processing Centers and Customer Relations Specialist components.
Ensuring that revision and adaptations are developed and disseminated.
Appling analytical, evaluating methods and techniques to issue studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of the EMS program.
Formulating, designing, and developing immediate, mid-range and long-range strategies which establish overall goals and emphasize an understanding of the EMS business model and processes.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
