About the Position: This position is located at Headquarters, U.S. Army Material Command, G-3 for Operations, Strategy, Concepts & Capabilities Directorate, Capabilities Integration Division, Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Provide G-3 representation and functional support on various strategic work groups that are involved with developing and executing strategic planning and reengineering functions that are multi-disciplined and cross Command boundaries.
Integrate and prioritize the strategic planning, concept development and life-cycle management resources in response to Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) activities.
8Utilize expert knowledge in developing and interpreting guidance on program planning and evaluation across all of Army Material Command (AMC's) core competencies related to Army acquisition.
Identify, verify and assess causes and methods to resolve specially designated problem areas, or policy impediments that affect strategic planning and life-cycle management, in support of the Army leadership vision and initiatives.
Provide recommendations, advice, and counsel to General Officers and Senior Executives concerning major decisions and potential changes in program direction.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition position which requires certification in Life Cycle Logistics, Advanced, within 4 years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing and leading diverse teams; 2) executing advanced concepts, principles and practices related to the materiel requirements and acquisition functions and systems; 3) perform task associated with the assessment of the impact on sustainment of decisions made in the planning, programming, budgeting and execution (PPBE) system; and 4) advising General Officer/Senior Executive leadership on the impact of current and future environmental changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
