You will serve as a COMBAT SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE OFFICER (CSMO) in the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems and Information Warfare (C5I)/Cyber (N6) Directorate of COMNAVSURFPAC.

Duties

You will work with the Commander, Naval Forces Atlantic (CNSL) CSMO to ensure policy development is implemented for the entire Naval surface force, regardless of geographic location. You will assist the Force Combat Systems Officer (CSO) in providing continuity in development and implementation of Combat Systems Maintenance policies for Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP). You will be the CNSP combat systems maintenance process expert and point of contact for combat systems maintenance issues. You will formulate new evaluation techniques for the analysis of combat system problems and recommend a corrective course of action through improved process design and criteria to increase ship readiness. You will participate in the Commander U.S. Fleet Forces Command (CFFC)/Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CPF) Fleet Response Plan management, implementation, and planning process of combat systems maintenance management/Fleet modernization programs. You will participate in planning and execution of combat systems maintenance programs and development meetings and video tele-conferences for mission essential systems on all ship classes with various points of contact. You will develop and maintain processes to capture and use combat systems maintenance lessoned learned both by equipment specific data and ship class.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to work onboard ships.
  • This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring weapons systems maintenance progress and weapons systems alteration development/production to provide detailed technical assistance to the Combat Systems Officer (CSO) to maximize the combat readiness and material condition of assigned ships.
