You will serve as an Executive Director under the Commanding Officer, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific (O-6, USN), of the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado, California. EXPED WARFARE TRNG GRP PACIFIC.

Duties

You will interpret and recommend local policies to ensure the Command remains compliant with regulations from higher authority while meeting known and foreseeable complex program needs. You will develop solutions to complex problems at the Command level and the Directorate/Branch head levels involving manpower, training, admin, operations, logistics, supply, budget, and curriculum support issues. You will institute corrective action through reallocation and /or programming of funds to ensure maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization of budget resources. You will recommend solutions which affect technical management, scope, and direction to solve management problems and control the shape and control organizational direction. You will independently review, manage, plan, and schedule projects that are in current and/or future status. You will plan future objectives by establishing staffing procedures to include workload estimation techniques, workforce identification, administrative procedures, and processes. You will provide continuous executive-level advice to include financial planning, cost reporting and metrics development specifically for the organization. You will develop and implement the command's daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual Battle Rhythm events to ensure the consolidate efforts of the Organization meet annual Campaign Plan goals. You will develop the Command's Unit Action Plan (UAP) to ensure intermediate objectives achieve the organizations strategic Lines of Efforts (LEOs). You will utilize the Unit Action Plan to monitor Staff actions and requirements to ensure the successful completion of the organizations daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. You will communicate tasks assigned to employees by the Commanding Officer and/or Executive Offer, providing counsel, advice, support, and instruction as needed. You will interface with senior personnel across multiple Commands while working numerous high-priority projects in rapid succession.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector advising, directing, or providing leadership to a variety of personnel by formulating and implementing goals, priorities or objectives regarding the management of resources, programs, or assets to effectively support organizational strategic direction.
