You will serve as a RANGE DIRECTOR in the N9 RANGES of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE CTR CORONADO.

Duties

You will lead and manage military and civilian personnel and provide oversight to contract personnel across the range enterprise to ensure support to critical SEAL and SWCC pipeline and pre-deployment unit level training. You will act as the subject matter expert in Range Operations, Range Sustainment, and Range Modernization, to include range requirements associated with Service, USSOCOM, and interagency policy and installations. You will provide expert recommendations to the Commander, as well as to the NSWC Training, Ranges and Readiness Director (N32) regarding overall policy and doctrine for NSW ranges. You will directly supervise the NSWCEN Range Department (N9) and Regional Range Managers. You will establish the Range Department's strategic objectives, assigns priorities, and provides technical oversight for work performed.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • A pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • This position subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading, performing, managing, operating, modernizing multiple range complexes in locations dispersed across the U.S. AND demonstrating leadership/management experiences, directing complex enterprise through staff/regional directors, planning/forecasting future requirements, formulating long range financial/facility plans, directing current year budgets and service contracts.
