About the Position: The Patient Accountability Branch (PAB) supervisor's office is located near the Chief of PAD's office on the main entrance of the facility. The hours are from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The PAB supervisor will supervise and manage the only 24/7 branch in PAD. This individual will be the Subject Matter Expert on eligibility, admissions and discharge process, Secretary Designee process, Line of Duty (LOD), transfers, the relation between the PAB's process and medical records.
Duties
Complete supervisory duties to include; manage and distribute workload, participate in the hiring process, resolve grievances and complaints, develop performance plans, and counsel employees regarding their progress.
Advise employees on both work and administrative matters.
Oversee the verification of patient's eligibility to receive medical treatment.
Review admission and disposition orders for accuracy.
Train new staff in various processes involving admissions and dispositions.
Maintain daily and monthly reports.
Prepares schedules for completion of work.
Work collaboratively with identified working groups and stakeholders to improve policies and processes to support patient care.
Mirror Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center Patient Administration Department's standard operating procedures based off incorporated policies.
Process, write, and incorporate policies and standards that are in alignment with current administrative and procedural instructions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 2 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position may require the incumbent to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Minimum Qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: establishing patient eligibility; selecting and completing all records and forms associated with admission; processing discharges; maintaining patient accountability records and compiling reports; initiating and coordinating actions for medical evacuation of patients; and providing training to staff in various processes involving admissions and dispositions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Healthcare Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
