You will serve as a INDOOR SHOOTING RANGE MANAGER (P-876, SSST-S) in the N9 RANGES of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE CTR CORONADO.

Duties

You will organize and manage the Indoor Shooting Range and associated facilities. You will draft and publish local SOP's for assigned range to ensure Naval Special Warfare awareness of how to safely operate the assigned range. You will manage and supervise personnel, equipment, material and other required resources towards the execution of range operations on assigned range. You will advise command on current and future policies, objectives and programs. You will develop, coordinate and implement all plans, regulatory documentation and operational actions to establish and maintain a range control and range support structure to meet day to day requirements for ranges and training areas.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • You will be required to achieve and maintain Range Safety Officer/ NSW ROS qualifications.
  • This position requires Range Safety Officer experience and present certification documentation IA OPNAVINST 359I and COMNAVSPECWARCMNST 359I.1
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating and scheduling range operations (e.g., training facilities, live fire ranges, training areas), providing guidance on range safety operations, and developing and implementing training on range safety operations for an organization.
