Employee will be assigned to the Cardiology Department, VA Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI, providing administrative, technical, and clerical support to various sections within the department.
Duties
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Answers telephone calls and provides technical and secretarial assistance to the Cardiology Management staff as well as medical providers and others as requested.
Orders office supplies, distributes all incoming and outgoing mail, and provides administrative coverage to any or all medicine sections.
Creates and maintains all Cardiology Fellow and Faculty Physician outpatient clinic schedules.
Updates and makes appropriate changes for the Fellow and Faculty academic calendar during each academic year.
Ensures proper management of records created and maintained by the service line.
Completes all aspects of timekeeping for the department according to facility policies and procedures.
Performs training support duties such as coordination, scheduling, and acquisition of training and assists in maintaining training records and files.
Assists with preparing travel arrangements for staff.
Provides guidance and assistance to clinical staff and requests modifications or new account access, documentation keys and menus, information technology (IT) hardware requests, etc.
Manages and prepares a range of correspondence, including memorandums, meeting minutes, reports, and other correspondence, as needed.
Utilizes a range of office automation software.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.

Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office; scheduling and managing a calendar of appointments; preparing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication; serving as a timekeeper; utilizing various computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.; and maintaining files.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary; however, some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items is required.
