This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin,Office of Investigation. As a Staff Assistant (Administrative Management Specialist), you will provide effective analysis, monitoring and execution of work related to program operations (e.g., budget, procurement, case management, facilities, Human Resources) and organizational efficiency and proficiency.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Serve as a functional liaison to advocate the interest and negotiate on behalf of management with officials in human resources, facilities,
budget, case management and security functions pertaining to the division.
Perform a wide range of budgetary and administrative duties to assist the SAC or Director with formulation, analysis, execution and review of the division budget.
Responsible for directing, managing, and administering the division acquisition program which requires comprehensive knowledge of the procurement process, agency procedures and Federal Regulations.
Act as inventory coordinator to ensure procedural requirements are met regarding government vehicles and government property assigned to divisional personnel.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-11, specialized experience is one year at the GS-09 level, or equivalent, that is related to the position as listed above or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow up to ensure actions are timely completed; AND
- Arranging conferences and other large meetings for the supervisor; AND
- Coordinating action items resulting from meeting and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND
- Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office; AND
- Identifying and analyzing plans and programs for an office.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or, 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
For the GS-9, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-07 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed above. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow-up to ensure actions are timely complete; AND
- Coordinating action items resulting from meetings and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND
- Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
OPM instructions.
