About the Position: Serves as a Human Resource (HR) Specialist performing operational assignments in the AMC Civilian Human Resources Servicing Center.
Duties
Serves as an Human Resources (HR) Specialist in a Civilian Human Resources Service Center (CHRSC).
Provides staffing advisory services applying HR methods, principles, and evaluative methods.
Uses analytical methods to identify, evaluate, and recommend HR solutions.
Develop and deliver briefings, project papers, status/staff reports and correspondence using written and oral communication.
Advises on a wide range of staffing issues such as workforce shaping, special placement programs, and recruitment methods.
Inputs and retrieves data from automated personnel systems such as: DCPDS, FASCLASS, EMPReS.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- Position requires a Basic Background Investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Providing advisory services to employees and management on civilian personnel matters; 2. Utilizing civilian human resources automated systems to review and retrieve information; 3. Providing assistance in resolving civilian human resources issues; 4. Creating various civilian human resources products such as job analyses, vacancy announcements, referral lists and coding personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09).
OR
EDUCATION: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
