About the Position: This position is with the 63rd Readiness Division, Family Program Regional Office, with duty at Glendale, Arizona.
Duties
Plan programs to improve quality of both duty and family life.
Analyze/assess Family program problems surfaced by units.
Plan, maintain and update ongoing system of information and referral.
Plan for Family support and assistance upon mobilization.
Represent command at conferences and meetings focusing on quality of life and Family programs.
Analyze social environment and impact of social policies.
Identify Family issues affecting retention and readiness.
Prepare and disseminate information to Family members on benefits and entitlements.

Basic Requirement for Family Program Coordinator:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as community leadership, sociology, psychology.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements above, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education in the amounts shown below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing, planning, developing, and implementing programs associated with community service, Family support programs, and related referral networks and volunteer programs; acquired skill in program funds management and adapting, arranging, or providing technical briefings, orientations, training, and workshops involving support programs.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service, GS-09.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as community leadership, sociology, psychology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
