Joining the Secret Service, Office of Human Resources will allow you to accomplish analysis and data wrangling, develop methodological approaches, study, and advance written, verbal, and visual communications of study analysis output. Duties

U.S. Secret Service is seeking retired (CSRS/FERS) individuals to support our integrated mission and immediately impart their knowledge and experience to the current workforce.  If re-employed under a Dual Compensation Hiring Authority with an OPM approved salary off-set waiver granted to the Secret Service, annuitants are able to earn their full salary and their full annuity without penalty. The USSS employs retirees under the Dual Compensation Hiring Authority below:

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as:  Conducting planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition; storage; and retrieval of data. Examples include: demographic data; program outcomes; and program utilization; website user behavior; qualitative and quantitative customer research and customer feedback; economic indicators; and expenditure data. Solving technical problems by choosing the appropriate tools and explaining data architecture and design to both technical and non-technical audiences and delivering reports and relevant information to support the needs of leadership and policy/project teams. Translating the results of analysis into clear, actionable communications that equip Agency decision makers to make informed; data-driven decisions about digital product development; and IT strategy. AND Serving as a resource and leader to Federal and contractor staff on implementing; managing; tracking and evaluating large scale and extremely complex data analysis projects and their associated requirements and risks. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
