As the Branch Chief for the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Accessibility (DEIA) Branch, you will oversee and lead several core functions to include: 1) DEIA Program Management, Implementation, and Assessment; 2) Special Emphasis Programs and ERG Engagement; 3) DEIA Data Analytics and Reporting; 4) Diversity and Equal Opportunity Reports; 5) Reasonable Accommodation Program Coordination and Oversight.
Duties
Lead and participate in strategic planning, collaborative development of goals, milestones, and objectives, program evaluation and assessment, and continual development of policies and procedures governing DEIA programs and activities.
Ensure initiatives are aligned with agency goals and objectives, diversity issues are part of NASA's strategic and business planning processes, and leaders are evaluated on their efforts to empower diversity and inclusion.
Serve as an expert and advisor in interpreting laws, regulations, executive orders, and other authorities regarding Federal civil rights and DEIA requirements, which apply to NASA’s mission, programs, and activities.
Provide guidance and support to NASA senior management teams in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and projects and to identify and remove barriers to EEO, including empowering the participation of historically underrepresented groups.
Provide oversight and direction for core functions including: Program Management, Implementation, and Assessment; Special Emphasis Programs and ERG Engagement; Data Analytics and Reporting; Reasonable Accommodation Program Coordination and Oversight.
Evaluate, enhance, and implement nondiscrimination policies, programs, and guidance to ensure compliance of NASA’s reasonable accommodation program.
Supervise and provide guidance and direction to a diverse team, including planning and establishing priorities for employees. Supports a culture of high performance, teamwork, and accountability that sustains excellence and promotes collaboration.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Requirements
- You must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Providing strategic management to include strategic planning, program management, program implementation, and
performance assessment;
Applying sound critical thinking and problem-solving methods to advise senior management on organizational performance, functions, issues, and/or challenges involving Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programs and/or activities;
Producing high-level analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of programs or projects performance using evidence provided by a variety of data and information sources, and providing and implementing recommendations for improvement and resolution of issues to ensure strategic goals and objectives are met.
