You will serve as a SAFETY TECHNICIAN in the Safety Department atRECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.
Duties
You will collect data of routine work processes and circumstance to be analyzed by a higher graded safety specialist.
You will investigate hazardous conditions, practices, and equipment in order to identify the nature of the hazard and suggest possible recommendations to Safety team members.
You will conduct independent and routine inspections of training elements where hazards are likely to occur to identify potential threats and hazards before they create damage and/or injury.
You will collect follow-up data to determine whether solutions implemented have adequately addressed identified problems.
You will prepare reports of findings to support higher graded specialist in discussions with stakeholders about results of inspections or surveys for the development of new job safety procedures.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Conducts routine inspections to ensure compliance with current standard safety regulations; 2) Maintain safety records and support documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; 3) has knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, methods, and standards; and 4) has knowledge of a variety of software programs, including safety/occupational health related ones such as Enterprise Safety Applications Management Systems (ESAMS) and Risk Management Information Systems (RMI).
