You will serve as a Safety Technician of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.
Duties
You will inspect workplaces, processes, or products for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards to identify potential new hazards.
You will create safety inspection reports based on facts obtained during the inspection process.
You will prepare reports of findings or recommendations from safety inspections and investigations.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- Must be able to maintain CPR and AED qualifications.
- You may have to work flexible hours to observe high-risk training events.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- In addition, incumbent requires annual HIPAA training in addition to standard training requirements for all staff.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Investigates hazardous conditions, practices, and equipment in order to identify the nature of the hazard. 2) Conducts simple inspections to ensure compliance with standard current safety regulations 3) Searches for, collects, and consolidates data, and finalizes information for various routine or nonroutine reports. 4) Utilize safety and occupational health principles, methods and standards, regulations, policies, and procedures. 5) Utilize software programs to include Enterprise Safety Applications Management Systems (ESAMS) and Risk Management Information Systems (RMI).
