About the Position: Serves as the Director of Base Operations with delegated responsibility and authority for formulating policies, making decisions on matters that commit the organization, and providing managerial guidance and leadership over assigned activities.
Duties
Review and approve objectives, plans, schedules, and programs.
Coordinate and recommend adjustments and resolves problems in operations which affect major organizational segments, total program sources, budget execution and overall efficiency.
Review the need for, evaluates available information, and recommend expenditures of funds pertaining to special projects, such as relocation or rearrangement of organizations and functions, purchase of new equipment, and commercial contracting.
Oversee revision of long-range plans, goals and objectives for the work directed.
Study and interpret regulations, directives, circulars, and publications from local and higher echelons pertaining to the overall management of the directorate.
Work with the Commanding Officer and/or the Deputy to the Commander and other senior management officials of the directorate in the development of their primary mission goals and objectives.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative program direction over an organization's policy, planning, financial and operational committees. Evaluating budget and manpower resources and recommending distribution to organizations based on understanding of program objectives. Recommending organization structures and evaluating functional areas such as financial, maintenance, supply, and engineering, security and morale, welfare and recreation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
